This policy document establishes the standards, criteria, and procedures that the Department of American Studies at UNC Chapel Hill uses to guide faculty personnel decisions, including appointments, reappointments, promotions, and tenure. It covers expectations for both tenure-track/tenured faculty and fixed-term teaching track faculty across the areas of research (including creative activity), teaching, and service.
