Department of Health Sciences, Physician Assistant Program: Procedure for End of Curriculum Assessment Written Examination
Introduction
Purpose
This Procedure establishes the processes to which Physician Assistant (PA) Program (Program) students (Students) must adhere for the End of Curriculum Assessment Written Examination.
Scope
This Procedure applies to all Students who matriculate into the Program.
Procedure
- Students must acknowledge the PA Education Association (PAEA) Assessment Exam Policies upon setting up their individual account with PAEA and upon taking an examination in the PAEA assessment platform.
- Students are required to follow pre-examination procedures prior to examination, including computer updates, disabling firewalls, checking compatibility, etc. with failure to do so resulting in exam delay and/or lost exam time.
- Students are required to adhere to PAEA Assessment academic integrity instructions and procedures for the examination, as outlined in the PAEA Assessment Exam Policies.
- Students are required to arrive promptly at least fifteen (15) minutes before the designated start time.
- Students are allowed only the following resources in the examination room:
- Laptop computer, pen/pencil and one blank scratch sheet of paper; and
- Program-approved ear plugs.
All other belongings, including coffee mugs, water bottles, tissue boxes, etc. must be left outside the examination room.
- Wearing smart watches/devices to include wrist devices, virtual glasses and headphones of any type are not permitted during the examinations.
- Students are not permitted to Talk during the examination.
- All Students must take the examination on the designated date and at the designated time.
- No questions will be answered during the examination. If a Student experiences technical difficulty, they must raise their hand, and a proctor will assist them.
- Students may not look at any study materials during breaks.
- Any duplication, copying or distribution of content of any PAEA exam, including key-word feedback in the results is considered an Honor Code Violation; this includes any violation of PAEA Examination Policies. Students found in violation of any of these policies will be referred to the Student Progress Committee for further review and possible disciplinary action.
