Title
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Policy on Conditions of Employment for Employees Exempt from the North Carolina Human Resources Act
Introduction
Purpose
This policy governs the conditions of employment for employees Exempt from the Human Resources Act (EHRA employees) pursuant to the employment policies adopted by the Board of Governors of the University of North Carolina.
Scope
This policy applies to University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill ("University") EHRA employees, including Senior Academic and Administrative Officers (SAAO), Faculty, and Exempt Professional Staff (EPS) as defined by Section 300.1.1 of the UNC Policy Manual.
Policy
Policy Statement
The University employs all EHRA employees pursuant to this policy and the policies set forth by The Code of the Board of Governors of the University of North Carolina ("The Code") and the UNC Policy Manual. Unless otherwise provided in The Code or the UNC Policy Manual, no contract, other writing, or oral agreement may vary or modify these provisions.
Chapter 300 of the UNC Policy Manual contains UNC System Office policies applicable to EHRA employees at the University.
Specifically, Section 300.1.1 of the UNC Policy Manual outlines the terms and conditions of employment for all EHRA employees, which include the following:
- Appointments,
- Compensation, and
- Separation.
EHRA employees are subject to the leave programs outlined in Section 300.2.22 of the UNC Policy Manual.
Unless otherwise provided, EHRA employees are subject to the policies and benefits afforded by federal and state statute, UNC System Office policy, and University policy.
