Introduction

Purpose

To outline departmental policy on allowable events and business entertainment expenses

Scope

Applicable to all individuals receiving departmental allowances, including faculty, Advanced Practice Providers, fellows, residents, and any others who may be requesting departmental support for a business entertainment expense.

Policy

Policy Statement

The Department supports professional events, educational meetings, recruitment efforts, and business entertainment that are consistent with, and supportive of the University’s mission and policies.

A. Policy Requirements

All Departmental employees eligible for Business Entertainment Expense, must comply with the Procedure on Business and Entertainment Expense Procedure. The intent of this policy is to ensure appropriate use of departmental funds for their intended use, and to further the departmental mission.

Definitions

  • Business Entertainment Expense - An expense which complies with University policies, and is related to approved University professional events, recruitment efforts, and entertainment.
