This document explains the terms, conditions, and cancellation procedures associated with the Carolina Housing Contract, which is a legally binding agreement between students and Carolina Housing. It outlines when and how students may cancel their contract, what fees apply based on student type and timing, and under what circumstances the University may approve a contract termination.

The purpose of this policy is to establish criteria in order to determine if rental events in venues managed by Carolina Performing Arts qualify as being sponsored, and to define the requirements, rules, responsibilities, and benefits for events sponsored by these organizations.

This Policy is intended to help facilitate transportation and travel such that members of the Department of Athletics can effectively fulfill their job functions while also ensuring the Department remains fiscally responsible and compliant with all applicable laws of the State of North Carolina, NCAA and ACC rules, and institutional policies.

Insurance coverage for rental vehicles is provided by the University's automobile insurance which is part of a master policy issued to The State of North Carolina. We are required to comply with all state policies regarding insurance and rental vehicle use.

Employees that rent vehicles for official University business do not need to acquire or purchase additional automobile insurance. Rather, the University's existing automobile insurance policy automatically provides both liability and physical damage insurance for these vehicles.
