406.1 - University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Procedure on Reinvesting Endowment Income

Procedure Statement

Subject to donor-imposed restrictions, the departments may elect to use the distributed endowment income, invest in the University Temporary Pool, or reinvest all or a portion of the income with the UNC-CH Foundation Investment Fund Inc. (Investment Fund), for withdrawal at a later date.

Forms and Instructions

Endowment income may be reinvested in the UNC-Chapel Hill Foundation Investment Fund, Inc. by using the Campus Journal Entry System in ConnectCarolina. The journal entry is restricted to transfers from the endowment income fund to its related principal fund. For more information on these transactions, please consult the Campus Journals Guide.
