Under the terms of the University's authorizations to use radiation sources, EHS is charged with maintaining portal-to- portal surveillance of all radiation sources on the campus. In order to facilitate this surveillance and to insure that a high awareness of the rules and regulations governing the safe use of radiation sources is maintained, it is required that certain records and reference materials be maintained.
This Policy clarifies the applicability of law and certain other University policies to electronic mail and the University's Policy on the privacy of electronic information. Users are reminded that all uses of the University's information technology resources, including electronic mail, are subject to all relevant University policies and relevant state and federal laws, including federal copyright law.
In order to ensure compliance with state and federal laws and University policies, all UNC-Chapel Hill employees, as well as contractors, vendors, volunteers, or any other person or agency creating Records on behalf of the University, must Retain and Dispose of the Records they create or receive as part of their work at UNC-Chapel Hill according to the instructions in the University of North Carolina General Records Retention and Disposition Schedule.
It is the policy of the UNC-CH Police Department that its employees must use any Mobile Communication Devices in a manner that is safe and effective. Personnel must not allow use of these devices to compromise in any way their attention to duty; attention to their own safety and that of their fellow officers; and/or attention to persons in need of their assistance.
The purpose of this policy is to standardize the type and regulate the use of closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras owned and/or leased by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill ("University") to monitor property for the purposes of safety and security.
