Investigators are ultimately responsible for the conduct of research. Investigators may delegate tasks to appropriately trained and qualified members of their research team. In order to ensure compliance with state and federal laws and University policies, all UNC-Chapel Hill employees, as well as contractors, vendors, volunteers, or any other person or agency creating Records on behalf of the University, must Retain and Dispose of the Records they create or receive as part of their work at UNC-Chapel Hill according to the instructions in the University of North Carolina General Records Retention and Disposition Schedule.
