This document describes the Adams School of Dentistry's policy on timely signature of Assessment of Clinical Experience (ACE) forms by attendings.

This document provides guidance on conducting a risk assessment, implementing a risk mitigation program, communicating during and after the assessment, and developing practices to support ongoing application of the risk assessment process to ensure safe laboratory operations.

The purpose of this policy is to articulate requirements for assessment of outcomes and use of results for improvement purposes in academic and non-academic units and to specify the roles and responsibilities for implementing and overseeing assessment processes to ensure compliance with this policy and with the requirements of SACSCOC.

The purpose of this Standard is to ensure efficient operations and academic integrity in the Adams School of Dentistry ("ASOD") assessment process. This Standard applies to all written assessments administered by the ASOD to its DDS and DH students.

The purpose of this general order (G.O) is to establish guidelines for members of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH) Community to assess and report threats. Proper evaluation of threats is essential to provide a safe environment for the UNC-CH Community.

Risk assessment and management guidelines for agriculture differ from human public health standards. Risk management for agriculture research is based on the potential economic impact of animal and plant morbidity, and mortality, and the trade implications of disease.

Over the past two decades, Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories (BMBL) has become the code of practice for biosafety—the discipline addressing the safe handling and containment of infectious microorganisms and hazardous biological materials.

Since the publication of the 4th edition of BMBL manual in 1999, significant events have brought national and international scrutiny to the area of laboratory security. These events, including the anthrax attacks on U.S. citizens in October 2001 and the subsequent expansion of the United States Select Agent regulations in December 2003, have led scientific and institutional leaders to consider the need for improving the security of biological agents and toxins within their facilities.

Prior to the implementation of this policy, the University used multiple vendors for printing and copying services, which was costly. By consolidating these services, the Carolina Managed Print Services Program reduces costs and provides effective copying and printing without compromising productivity or convenience.

Each DDS student's academic and patient care performance must be reviewed throughout the semester. Student performance will be monitored regularly during the semester by faculty and course directors. This includes student compliance with the ASOD Technical Standards in all academic environments.

For this reason, the University has enacted this policy which provides a mandatory process by which all employees and affiliates (as defined below) must report any post-employment criminal conviction(s) to appropriate University administrators and sets forth standards by which any convictions will be evaluated and acted on.
