The purpose of this policy is to provide a fair and equitable allocation of parking permits for School of Nursing (SON) permanent employees. An equitable parking policy should be one that reflects some consensus of the views held by those affected by the policy. There is no parking policy that will be satisfactory to everyone because there is neither a sufficient number of permits allocated for prime lots nor a sufficient number of permits for all faculty and staff desiring parking.

This Standard provides guidelines for gratuity and tipping for services provided that will be permitted for payment. Gratuity and tipping is an expense that is ordinary and reasonable to incur as a business practice; however, if the guidelines included in this standard are exceeded, individuals will be responsible for out of pocket expenses for gratuity and tipping over the amount as listed.

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Institutional Review Board (IRB) will review all transnational research involving human participants to assure adequate provisions are in place to protect the rights and welfare of the participants. Regular clinic, lab, and class attendance is a student obligation. A student is responsible for all labs, clinic/rotations, class sessions, and classwork, including assignments, projects, examinations, and other course requirements, for all scheduled meetings. No right or privilege exists which permits a student to be absent from any given number of labs, clinic/rotation, or class sessions.

It is important to dispose of radioactive waste in accordance with radiation protection regulations. This avoids exposure to personnel and contamination of the environment. It also avoids regulatory penalties and the possible loss of radioactive material use privileges.
