This procedure describes the criteria to be used in determining who is eligible to access student records data, the circumstances under which data may be released, and procedures to follow in requesting access to student data. This policy is designed to comply with the provisions of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974, 20 U.S.C. Sec. 1232g and with the University’s policies for the use of human subjects in research as monitored by the Office of Research Administration.
This policy lists the approved degrees, and the majors in each degree, awarded by each of the schools and colleges on this campus and the code numbers assigned to each degree and major. This memorandum also explains the University's process for awarding an earned degree posthumously or a memorial degree of achievement to the next of kin of a deceased student.
These protocols are intended to guide and support staff, faculty, and student employees in addressing deaths of students that occur while individuals are actively enrolled at the University.
