This Policy is intended to provide the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Department of Athletics with acceptable procedures regarding athletic Equipment. This Policy will highlight the duties and requirements concerning the use, issuance, retrieval, purchase, and disposal of Equipment as herein defined.

This Policy explains the Department of Athletics' and student-athlete roles and responsibilities in the event of a student-athlete arrest.

This Policy is intended to facilitate efforts to maximize the value of Sponsorship Inventory by utilizing such Sponsorship Inventory to generate cash, products, cost savings, or other valuable remuneration for the Department. This Policy is also intended to help facilitate compliance with applicable legislation, policies, procedures, and rules of any applicable athletic governing association.

The following procedures are to be used when a student-athlete attending The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks a review of a decision of a financial aid administrator, such as the Associate Vice Provost and Director of Scholarships and Student Aid ("Associate Provost") or designee, on recommendation of the Department of Athletics, related to the reduction, cancellation, or non-renewal of athletically related institutional financial aid.
