Campus Health: Mission Statement
Introduction
Purpose
This document defines the mission, core values, and guiding commitments of Campus Health in providing student-centered medical and mental health services to the University community. It also articulates Campus Health and CAPS's commitment to the wellbeing of their own staff.
Scope
This document applies to Campus Health and CAPS staff, as well as the students, post-doctoral fellows, and spouses and partners they serve at the University.
Policy
Policy Statement
Campus Health partners with the University community to provide expert, student-centered, welcoming, and comprehensive health care and wellness promotion to support academic and personal success. We help students thrive by fostering resiliency and mastery of self-care for a lifetime of health.
Our charge is to provide ambulatory primary medical care and mental health services along with selected specialty services.

Specifically, Campus Health shall:
- Create a healthy culture that is welcoming, celebrates excellence, respects individuals and supports learning.
- Empower students for lifelong wellness through education and instilling the value of health.
- Support creative use of resources to achieve fiscal responsibility and accountability.
- Utilize teamwork and collaboration with staff, students and others to improve overall services for meeting the challenging needs of the population served.
- Develop effective communication within and among all departments and work teams to better involve staff in effective problem solving, strategic decision making, and supporting each other in sharing and meeting their objectives.
- Provide expert and appropriate consultation to the University Community regarding issues of health and wellness of the Campus community.
Campus Health and CAPS Employee Wellbeing Statement
Campus Health and CAPS strive to cultivate and maintain a culture of compassion and care for Campus Health and CAPS staff and for the students, post-doctoral fellows and the spouses and partners we serve. We value our employees and their physical and mental wellbeing. We recognize that health is essential in order for our staff to provide excellent care to our students. We support and encourage employees to engage in self-care and to seek care as needed in order to maintain their physical and mental wellbeing. Campus Health and CAPS commits to continually developing and maintaining a healthy work environment within the parameters established by the University where individuals feel respected and empowered to be their best selves and to do their best work.
