Introduction

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to define shared leave requirements.

Scope

This policy applies to all employees of the Department of Orthopaedics.

Policy

Policy Statement

The Department of Orthopaedics will approve maximum allowances for Shared Leave Requests for all employees in the following rates:

  1. The base rate is 4 weeks.
  2. The international rate is 1 week for every year of service after the probationary period.

All employees in the probationary period will receive the base rate as the maximum allowable Share Leave.

Exceptions

In the following circumstances, employees will not be allowed to apply for Shared Leave:

  1. Employee has a needs improvement in the Work and Attendance Category.
  2. Employee has a needs Improvements in the Overall Performance Score.
